Because it’s Restaurant Week in NYC!!! Well, in all actuality, it isn’t really a week. The city wide extravaganza for all us “foodies” starts tomorrow, January 25th, and ends on February 7th. But wait, there’s more. Select restaurants are actually extending their participation all the way through February 28th! Some of you may be wondering, “What the hell is Restaurant Week and how do I get there?” And to that I say, “Good question.” Restaurant Week (RW) is an amazing opportunity for people to visit a large selection of participating establishments and eat for only a fraction of the normal prices. It’s a time to try new restaurants, especially the ones that may normally be out of your budget. But this year, NYC Restaurant Week is better than ever. Not only because of the fact that some restaurants are extending their dates, but also because of the Restaurant Week Truck. NYC is big on food trucks and stands so it’s only right that there are soups from 24 of NYC’s best restaurants riding around the city. If you decide to participate in this years RW, which you should, hit us up so we can know where the best food is. We can make a shindig out of it and have some fun! If you have never attended a Brooklyn Circus event, I have no clue what you’ve been doing with your life but you will have the opportunity to redeem yourself very soon. I went to the BKc book release party over the Summer and it was by far one of the best events I’ve ever been to. The crowd is highly fashionable but not too cool to dance and truly have a good time. Just picture a room full of some of the best dressed people you’ve ever seen, flowing drinks, and the best selection of music in town blasting from all sides. Yep. That’s a Brooklyn Circus party for ya. This Saturday, December 19th, they will be throwing their FIRST annual holiday party in the Dumbo section of Brooklyn. The venue, No. 1 Front St., is a massive club space with multiple levels and bars located throughout. I’ve already attended 2 parties here and it is surely a place that I’ve been eager to revisit. Sooooo ….That’s what I’m doing this Saturday. What are YOU doing??? Get that outfit ready and meet me there. So with the EXTREME success of the hit show True Blood, HBO has decided to release the drink from the show as a real product. The blood-orange flavored soda, described as slightly tart and subtly carbonated is going for $96.00 for a 24 pack — 4 bucks a bottle. Is it worth it? On the real, I’d at least taste it. I think I’m gonna cop some for M&N’s first annual Halloween party. Purchase yours here.

I don’t know about you, but I was practically going through Summer BBQ withdrawal prior to Independence Day weekend!! I hadn’t heard of any going on so I took it upon myself to have one at my house out in Springfield Gardens, Queens on July 5th.  It was a relatively small gathering but the food was great (the delicious food in the photo was thanks to me) and the drinks were flowing (also thanks to me). Chef Nicky Famous was in full effect that day and I was commended for my hard work on everything from Italian sausage to the grilled corn. Stay tuned for an M&N BBQ as well as other events before the summer is over!!! If you don’t have any solidified warm weather hang out spots, consider this a favor. Habana Outpost, located in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn, is one of the best places to be  when the sun is shining and the temperature is above 70 degrees. Between the networking opportunities with the people that frequent it, the food, and the refreshing frozen drinks, this is the best place to start your day in my humble opinion. They host tons of events during the Spring and Summer months and they had KRS One perforat their block party recently! And if that wasn’t enough, they also open up their establishment as a market place on Saturdays for vendors to come and sell their goods. You can find anything from artwork to clothing. Not to mention you can find me in there talking to as many beautiful ladies as my mind can manage! Come through to mix and mingle and buy me a mojito. Clearly I am a BKC advocate and supporter because they have reserved a permanent spot in my mind and on the site. I spend a lot of time in their Brooklyn location and lately I’ve been in there more often than usual so its only right that I write. Right? Right. For those who don’t know me, my varsity jacket game is on point these days. And this is a fairly recent occurrence because great brands, such as BKC, keep putting out great varsity jackets that just force me to purchase them. Hence why I’m heading to the Brooklyn Circus shortly to pick up another jacket. Or two. Probably either the BKC X Sabit black varsity or the BKC denim varsity jacket. Both pieces are amazing and I don’t think my life would be complete without at least one of ‘em. But what I really need to pick up is the brand new “Changing of the Guards” style book. The creators describe the book as being  “a 128 page leather-bound visual collection of photography, art, design and history that have created and inspired the Brooklyn Circus Journey”. Yep. A Brooklyn Circus Coffee table book!! Consider it purchased. Stop by the shop and just enjoy the vibe and do some Spring shopping. It’s Saturday, the day of the week that a lot people look forward to the most. Some people take use it to recuperate from days of hard work preceding. Some of you may take this day to do things like shop or go on a date. But may I make a suggestion? Enjoy the nightlife and party hard!!! Not so hard that you don’t feel well the next morning. But party hard enough for there to be pictures of you in a nice outfit circulating party sites and facebook albums. At least party hard enough to want to do the same thing again next Saturday. In the beautiful city of New York, there are a few things going on tonight that I strongly suggest you get in to.

The Brooklyn Museum hosts one of the best events in the city on the first Saturday of almost every month. Target’s First Saturdays at the BK Museum allows you to get up close and personal with different artists and their crafts, offering different speeches and classes you can attend from 5pm-9pm. After 9pm is when the dance party goes down. Yes I said it. A dance party in the museum. Check out the official site for more info.

After you get your fill of the artsy crowd at the Brooklyn Museum, you can follow the more soulful of the bunch to a Minority Report hosted after party at a nice little spot in Brooklyn called Autour De Monde. For more info, check here.

If you don’t want to stay in Brooklyn, I’ve got the perfect place for you to go. My good friend Selena invited me to a party at Hiro which is located inside the Maritime Hotel located at 363 W16th St. right off of 9th Ave. in the meatpacking district. It will be going on from 10pm to about 5am so bring your dancing shoes . If you’ve ever been to the meatpacking district, you know that any party you’re invited to over there should not be missed. It’s an upscale crowd and an opportunity for you to put on Sunday’s best…ON SATURDAY NIGHT!!! But you’ll get to party through Sunday morning so it all works out.
