Santos Party House has the most fitting name of any night life entity I have ever come across…It is truly a PARTY HOUSE. And in this house, you can find some of the greatest and coolest musical talent to date. From live performances, to guest DJ’s, Santos is the place to be in NYC. A new addition to the Party House inhabitants is world renowned music producer Just Blaze. He’s got a lot more time on his hands now that Baseline Studios is closed so his Friday nights will be spent on the turntables at Santos Party House. I recently ran into him at 105 Rivington and he’s a pretty cool cat so you will catch me in the building. Be there! You might just get to hear the latest Just Blaze produced track “Exhibit C” by Jay Electronica.

For all the designers, photographers, marketers, fashion marketers, entrepreneurs and social media buffs out there around the city — there’s an event happening tomorrow you don’t want to miss. It’s the kickoff of Digital Wednesdays, NYC’s weekly mixer for Digital media and Fashion professionals. I met one of the creators of the event Max Ramirez on Friday and he told me that it’d be something I wouldn’t want to miss. With no cover, drink/food specials all night and a smooth after work crowd of smart and saavy digital professionals, there’s really no reason to miss it. Its taking place at Tanuki Tavern inside Hotel Gansevoort in the meat-packing district. TOMORROW Feb 17th from 7-10pm. See you there!

By now, you are well aware of the tragic events that have occurred in the country of Haiti. The earthquake that destroyed the homes and spirits of so many Haitians has been the cause of an unimaginable amount of pain and suffering. It has also been the cause of many good deeds done throughout the world. It seemed like there was almost an immediate response from the rest of the world when word of  the events that took place in Haiti got out. Not only was it a trending topic on Twitter, but #Haiti is also a trending topic on the news and within the hearts of millions of people. People have been coming together and giving so much towards the rebuilding of the shattered country. The Hope For Haiti telethon that aired world wide has been the biggest of the public efforts thus far. Organized by George Clooney, the two hour telethon featured everyone from Denzel Washington to Alicia Keys. The powerful performances and speeches given that night set the tone for everyone to do whatever they could to help out and they raised almost 60 million dollars for the cause. Despite much controversy, Haitian music mogul, Wyclef, has been very instrumental in restoring his country through his organization Yele and just by speaking on the subject like he did this years Grammy Awards. I couldn’t go a day without seeing his tweets telling me to “Text Yele to 501501 to donate $5.” If you didn’t know, $1 is the equivalent to about 40 Haitian Gourdes so your dollar can surely make a difference. It seems as if everyone is getting in on the action, including Walmart, the New York Yankees, and Bank of America. Ralph Lauren has created special polo shirts and is donating 100% of the proceeds to aiding Haiti. They are actually pretty stylish so you may want to consider getting one if you haven’t already given to the cause. The Restaurant Week Truck in NYC is also donating $1 of every $6 purchase. Big names aren’t the only ones helping Haiti. My good friend Overfab recently held an event in NYC and raised over $2000 and 70 bags of goods. I say all this to say, the world isn’t as bad as it seems. There is always a way. Give and you shall receive…Contribute to the hope for Haiti in anyway you can. Because it’s Restaurant Week in NYC!!! Well, in all actuality, it isn’t really a week. The city wide extravaganza for all us “foodies” starts tomorrow, January 25th, and ends on February 7th. But wait, there’s more. Select restaurants are actually extending their participation all the way through February 28th! Some of you may be wondering, “What the hell is Restaurant Week and how do I get there?” And to that I say, “Good question.” Restaurant Week (RW) is an amazing opportunity for people to visit a large selection of participating establishments and eat for only a fraction of the normal prices. It’s a time to try new restaurants, especially the ones that may normally be out of your budget. But this year, NYC Restaurant Week is better than ever. Not only because of the fact that some restaurants are extending their dates, but also because of the Restaurant Week Truck. NYC is big on food trucks and stands so it’s only right that there are soups from 24 of NYC’s best restaurants riding around the city. If you decide to participate in this years RW, which you should, hit us up so we can know where the best food is. We can make a shindig out of it and have some fun! If you have never attended a Brooklyn Circus event, I have no clue what you’ve been doing with your life but you will have the opportunity to redeem yourself very soon. I went to the BKc book release party over the Summer and it was by far one of the best events I’ve ever been to. The crowd is highly fashionable but not too cool to dance and truly have a good time. Just picture a room full of some of the best dressed people you’ve ever seen, flowing drinks, and the best selection of music in town blasting from all sides. Yep. That’s a Brooklyn Circus party for ya. This Saturday, December 19th, they will be throwing their FIRST annual holiday party in the Dumbo section of Brooklyn. The venue, No. 1 Front St., is a massive club space with multiple levels and bars located throughout. I’ve already attended 2 parties here and it is surely a place that I’ve been eager to revisit. Sooooo ….That’s what I’m doing this Saturday. What are YOU doing??? Get that outfit ready and meet me there. To describe the sound of Raphael Saadiq would be to describe soul. Audio soul. Yea that sounds about right. This man has been writing, singing, and producing for years and he apparently has plenty left to offer. He has been compared to the likes of the Jackson 5 and on Friday December 4th, California native, Mr. Saadiq will be in New York city performing LIVE at Terminal 5.
