It’s not like I went out and bought the magazine. It belongs to my fashionista of a mother. Either way, it’s a great magazine and I would recommend it to both males and females. While perusing through my MOM’s latest issue of Women’s Health, with the beautiful Paula Patton on the cover, I came across a pretty interesting list; 11 reasons Men Love Women. The list was written by a man and it’s always cool to see what information men divulge to these female magazines. As it stands, we haven’t given away too many secrets so I think we’re good. 1. Your Taste In Movies: Just kidding. Sorry–it sucks.

2. Your Way With Kids: Here’s the thing: We don’t know where this young relationship is going, right? And nothing freaks us out more than when you start naming our future children. But when we see your warmth and ease around kids, when we notice your unspoken uplift in their presence, it’s hard not to smile and think, “Maybe.”

3. That Look: You know the one. That look that clues us in as to where the night’s headed. It’s subtle and sly enough to be offered across a crowded dinner table but lascivious and powerful enough to buckle our poor knees. Don’t underestimate it.

My prayers have been answered!!! Have you ever seen someone committing a fashion crime so heinous that you wanted to arrest them on the spot yourself? Unfortunately, you can’t, and it isn’t exactly polite to say “So you do know that you look like an idiot with those boot cut jeans and that over sized button down, right?” Well GQ magazine comes through for the male race yet again so that now all you have to say is “So….GQ.com.” Their new “Undateable” article is spot on and an instant classic. It gives gentlemen a blueprint on what not to wear, unless your purpose is to never attract the opposite sex. 1. Sports Jerseys: Only acceptable at a sporting event. Actually, we take that back. This whole look is just plain queer. And by queer we don’t mean gay. A gay man would never be caught dead in one. They make you look like a big, lumbering seven-year-old.

2. Sunglasses Indoors or at Night: Comedian Larry David put it best… “You know who wears sunglasses inside? Blind people and assholes.”

3. Tighty Whities: Just plain creepy.

I really love books and magazines. Vogue, GQ, fiction, autobiographies, and even books for dummies. I love them all. I sometimes find myself in Barnes and Noble for hours just browsing through the aisles. I end up sitting at a table with a dozen books and mags to look through but on my most recent visit, I decided to pick some things up. As it stands, I’m an upwardly mobile business man…But I want to be a business…Man! Knowledge is power and I realized there is only but so much knowledge I can gain if I don’t actually leave the store with books to read at my leisure. So I did just that. I picked up 3 books on business and just success in general:

1: The Lords of Strategy: The Secret Intellectual History of the New Corporate World by Walter Kiechel III

2: Money Talks Bullsh*t Walks by Ben Johnson

3: Never Eat Alone and Other Secrets to Success, One Relationship at a Time by Keith Ferrazzi with Tahl Raz

As I read these books, I’ll be taking notes and posting useful information from time to time so stay tuned. That is, if you don’t go out n get these books yourself. Oh and I picked up the newest GQ Magazine as well. It features Kobe Bryant, Drake, and even McLovin himself, Christopher Mintz-Plasse. I had to have it… *Kanye Shrug*

We are officially one month into the new year. If you’re anything like me, you already had it in your head that 2010 was going to be a great year for you. If you are ME than you’ve gotten off to a slow start due to the fact that you haven’t quite shaken off all of the prior years bad habits just yet. Well you’ve still got time to change and grab this year by the horns and GQ Magazine will tell you how. Although it is a magazine for gentlemen, the GQ 10 Point Plan for 2010 can be applied to females as well. You just need to know how to flip the script so that it fits into your lifestyle. This 10 point plan covers everything from eating properly to self grooming. Some of the key points are self sufficiency, productivity, confidence, and being well rounded. This has got to be one of the most helpful articles I have ever come across and I’m most definitely going to print it out and take heed. I suggest you do the same…

Fashion is such an amazing art form. Everyday, people are creating masterpieces, whether they know it or not. Sometimes, I find myself just going to places like Union Square to just take it all in. It’s pretty cold outside these days so I just settle for magazines like Vogue. They recently did an article on a fashion trend that has grown on me over the years and it is becoming more and more common. Men’s clothing fitted to a woman’s silhouette is huge right now, and also very sexy. Vogue Hommes editor in chief, Anastasia Barbieri, has certainly taken notice to this and is using it to her advantage to create her very own style masterpieces. Utilizing everything from men’s suits to watches, Barbieri manages to put together amazing outfits that not only look great, but also very feminine. Men’s clothing are very comfortable ladies, so take notes and view the article here!

Now that I’ve read the “Top 10 Everything” Lists on Time.com! I look for lists like this at the beginning of every year but this is by far the most extensive one I’ve ever come across. It features the top 10 of everything from the worst business deals to quotes of 2009, each category having its own list. My personal favorite is number five on the list of quotes. Michael Jackson said, “‘This is It’ Really means this is it.” Click here for your dose of the best and worst of 2009.

So I was recently on one of my Barnes & Noble expeditions the other day, which usually consist of me perusing through magazines and photography books for hours. This time around, I just went straight to the magazine section because I was seeking inspiration for a school project and didn’t have much time to find it. The first thing that grabbed my attention, other than Rihanna on GQ, was a dope black and white photo of Tupac. It was on the cover of a magazine called “Respect”. So I pick it up and wonder why I’ve never heard of it and then I see it’s the premiere issue. I immediately take it to the register, along with Rihanna on GQ’s cover, and purchase it so I can go sit on a quiet corner and pick it apart. This magazine is amazing. In a nutshell, it’s a quarterly photo journal of Hip-Hop culture. The Respect Magazine premiere issue features nine photographers with subjects ranging from The Beastie Boys to Jay-Z. Get to your nearest magazine carrier and get your piece of Hip-Hop history today!

This was very refreshing to see, I must say. I’m a huge fan of V Magazine and I always love their choice of models but they switched it up this time. This months issue features a different kind of model; the plus sized woman. Five beautiful models were photographed by Solve Sundsbo and the finished projected is truly amazing. I’m personally an advocate for a bit more meat on the bones but I don’t discriminate. Being comfortable in your own skin is important. Otherwise you will never be comfortable in your clothes. The entire issue is paying homage to women of all shapes and sizes and will hit the stands on January 14th!!! Check out more pics here!

Natalie Portman has come a long way in her acting career and somehow she seems to only get better with each movie. I personally think she’s sexy, especially in this photo shoot she recently did for V Magazine. The behind the scenes video is amazing and it shows the evident chemistry between her and photographer, Mario Testino.
