Have you ever heard about a major movie months prior to it’s release and get upset that you have to wait so long to see it? Yes I’m sure you have. Especially if the movie promises to be amazing due to the cast. People like Sarah Jessica Parker, Robert Downey Jr., and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLovin) tend to draw a pretty big crowd to their films and they all have movies coming out soon. As you can imagine, the anticipation is killing me…So I just watch the trailers over and over again and I’ve decided to share them with you! Sex and the City 2, Iron Man 2, and Kickass are all on my must see list. Check out the previews and try not to burn out your computer screen.

By now I’m hoping you’ve checked out the new Kanye West blog. If not, you need to because it is amazing and Kanye is being very efficient about posting. He has gone with a minimalist set up for the blog’s foundation but the content is quite the opposite. He pretty much created a canvas for all of his posts to be neatly placed on to. Nothing extra. Just the posts. Like his original blog, all of the content is art, but there is a different feel to the art he’s posting now. It’s as if Kanye wants the blog to remain immaculate. Kudos Mr. West. By now, you are well aware of the tragic events that have occurred in the country of Haiti. The earthquake that destroyed the homes and spirits of so many Haitians has been the cause of an unimaginable amount of pain and suffering. It has also been the cause of many good deeds done throughout the world. It seemed like there was almost an immediate response from the rest of the world when word of  the events that took place in Haiti got out. Not only was it a trending topic on Twitter, but #Haiti is also a trending topic on the news and within the hearts of millions of people. People have been coming together and giving so much towards the rebuilding of the shattered country. The Hope For Haiti telethon that aired world wide has been the biggest of the public efforts thus far. Organized by George Clooney, the two hour telethon featured everyone from Denzel Washington to Alicia Keys. The powerful performances and speeches given that night set the tone for everyone to do whatever they could to help out and they raised almost 60 million dollars for the cause. Despite much controversy, Haitian music mogul, Wyclef, has been very instrumental in restoring his country through his organization Yele and just by speaking on the subject like he did this years Grammy Awards. I couldn’t go a day without seeing his tweets telling me to “Text Yele to 501501 to donate $5.” If you didn’t know, $1 is the equivalent to about 40 Haitian Gourdes so your dollar can surely make a difference. It seems as if everyone is getting in on the action, including Walmart, the New York Yankees, and Bank of America. Ralph Lauren has created special polo shirts and is donating 100% of the proceeds to aiding Haiti. They are actually pretty stylish so you may want to consider getting one if you haven’t already given to the cause. The Restaurant Week Truck in NYC is also donating $1 of every $6 purchase. Big names aren’t the only ones helping Haiti. My good friend Overfab recently held an event in NYC and raised over $2000 and 70 bags of goods. I say all this to say, the world isn’t as bad as it seems. There is always a way. Give and you shall receive…Contribute to the hope for Haiti in anyway you can. That’s usually how I get dressed. I start with shoes and work my way up. I believe that shoes can tell you a lot about a person and mine usually reflect how I’m feeling and where I’m going on that particular occasion. Most of the windows I open on my computer are usually designated to different sites with shoes I like so I figured I’d share some things with you folks.

1: I was recently introduced to a shoe site for women that is so unique that I immediately got jealous because there isn’t anything like it for men. Run by Kim Kardashian, one of the most stylish (and most beautiful) women in the world, Shoe Dazzle defines “recession proof”. Ladies, if you aren’t already a member of this site, I suggest you get on it right now. It’s so simple and sooooo worth it. You take a survey, which is used by fashion experts to get to know your style. After that, you get to choose 1 from 5 pairs of amazing shoes per month for only 39.95 per pair. You aren’t obligated to purchase every month so you can just browse until you come across that must have pair of shoes. Real men love women with sexy shoes. Especially if they look expensive but really aren’t. You’re Welcome…

2: If you love shoes as much as I do, you probably know the importance of originality. Osborn Design shoes are the epitome of original. Using patterns and materials not usually seen on footwear, these aren’t just shoes; they are art. Run by Carla and Aaron Osborn, this Brooklyn based company is really pushing the limits with this very dope and affordable line of unisex footwear. Check out their shoes here.

3: The mocassin style shoe is very much in style for men these days so a lot of different brands are capitalizing on this. Complex Magazine recently put together a list of the 14 best mocassin inspired shoes for men. It features brands like Quoddy, L.L. Bean, J.Crew, and Visvim. I actually just ordered the SeaVees boots to add to my closet. They are my first pair of moccasin inspired anything and they look so comfy. I’ll let you know how they feel when they arrive. Because it’s Restaurant Week in NYC!!! Well, in all actuality, it isn’t really a week. The city wide extravaganza for all us “foodies” starts tomorrow, January 25th, and ends on February 7th. But wait, there’s more. Select restaurants are actually extending their participation all the way through February 28th! Some of you may be wondering, “What the hell is Restaurant Week and how do I get there?” And to that I say, “Good question.” Restaurant Week (RW) is an amazing opportunity for people to visit a large selection of participating establishments and eat for only a fraction of the normal prices. It’s a time to try new restaurants, especially the ones that may normally be out of your budget. But this year, NYC Restaurant Week is better than ever. Not only because of the fact that some restaurants are extending their dates, but also because of the Restaurant Week Truck. NYC is big on food trucks and stands so it’s only right that there are soups from 24 of NYC’s best restaurants riding around the city. If you decide to participate in this years RW, which you should, hit us up so we can know where the best food is. We can make a shindig out of it and have some fun! Now that I’ve read the “Top 10 Everything” Lists on Time.com! I look for lists like this at the beginning of every year but this is by far the most extensive one I’ve ever come across. It features the top 10 of everything from the worst business deals to quotes of 2009, each category having its own list. My personal favorite is number five on the list of quotes. There is always talk of where to get the best pizza in NYC. I personally don’t think there is a best. It’s all relative. Sometimes, the Papa Johns in Bedford Stuyvesant is the best place for me. Other times, it may be Ray’s Pizza in the village. I’m sure there are better pizza spots in NYC I’ve never even heard of. That’s why I try them all. In addition to being a growing boy, I’m also just curious. Hence why you may see me in Union Square one weekend with a group of strangers. Well I’m actually always in Union Square with a group of strangers. But now I have a reason. The Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour has begun! What is that you ask?! Well it’s a 4 hour tour of Brooklyn on which you will be stuffed with knowledge on Brooklyn monuments and celebrities. But you’ll also be stuffed with pizza from two of the best pizza shops known to man. Yea I said it. The tour starts in Union Square and proceeds to head over the Brooklyn Bridge to Grimaldi’s brick oven thin crust pizza shop. This place ALWAYS has a line a block long but the pizza makes it all worth it. I haven’t been there in a while but I will be going very soon. From there, the tour goes deep into Bensonhurst to  L&B Spumoni Gardens pizzeria where the specialty is the Sicilian slice. Check out the Slice of Brooklyn Pizza tour on Friday through Monday, starting today through the Spring. Dress comfortably because the tour begins at 11am and doesn’t end for at least 4 hrs. If you’re looking for me, I can be located in the nearest movie theater. Movie hopping is my number one cold weather activity. That and eating pizza and wings in the house. #dontjudgeme. Anyway, since it’s been so cold I’ve been seeing a lot of movies so I just wanted to give you folks some brief reviews. First of all, “Ninja Assassin” was CRAZY!!!! And it actually had some substance to it, surprisingly. Not that I really cared, because I was expecting nothing but flying swords and gushing blood. There was plenty of that, but there was a great story to support all the violence. Amazing graphics and martial arts make this a must see before it leaves theaters. I also checked out that new Columbus Short and Laurence Fishburne flick, Armored. Another action  movie, but not as good as Ninja Assassin in my opinion. Maybe I was just in a shallow mood the night I saw this, because the film came off as a bit too serious for me. It was good, though and had a great story. Just got a little rigid for me at certain points. I do recommend it though, so go check it out. The last movie I saw was “Up In the Air” starring George Clooney. I love the humor this guy brings to his roles. A little bit of Danny Ocean never hurt anybody and Clooney surely brought some of that into his new character. He played an intriguing business man who spent most of his time flying and in hotel rooms. This is the tale of his travels. Turns out to be a love story, but a great movie nonetheless. Don’t sleep. P.S. The Book of Eli and Brooklyn’s Finest look like they are going to be great flicks too! Just a heads up.

I have no clue where this year went but there is no time for me to dwell on that because I’ve got all of 2010 to look forward to! But before that, Holiday shopping must be tackled seeing how Christmas is in less than a month. I did a little research so that I could make the task of gift searching easier for all. It seems like every website that sells a product has put together their own gift guide so that your shopping can be completed with just a few clicks. J.Crew has got  the gifts for your children covered for as low as $25. It’s best to take advantage of recession proof gifts like the girls jersey turtleneck or the boys suede gloves. Looks good on your wallet as well as the children in your family. Neiman Marcus even got into the Christmas spirit and compiled a hefty list of gifts for her, below $100. Whether it’s assorted chocolates or a Tory Burch cosmetics bag, women just tend to love anything from Neiman’s so get on it. While these gift guides are great, my favorite has to be GQ Mag’s. They included gifts for pretty much everyone in your life, including yourself. The list consists of 50 gift ideas ranging from cashmere scarves to Canon cameras.
